Further Outpatient Care
- Arrange follow-up care with a rheumatologist and gastroenterologist.
Complications
- Mainly related to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Chronic arthritis, occasionally extra-articular involvement (uveitis)
- Secondary amyloidosis (mainly with Crohn disease)
- Toxicity of therapy
Prognosis
- Depends mainly on prognosis of underlying GI disease
- Severe spinal inflammatory disease (rare)
