Intervention
Conditions that may be treated with surgery include thymoma, other thymic tumors, myasthenia gravis with thymoma, and myasthenia gravis without thymoma.
Thymomas, along with the entire thymus gland, should be removed by means of median sternotomy. If the thymoma involves the pericardium, great veins, and/or part of the lung, they can be removed.19
