Intervention

Interventional radiology has played only a small role in the treatment of urethral injuries. In a few situations, delayed realignment of the urethra following suprapubic diversion has been accomplished under radiological guidance.28,29

Fluoroscopic guidance for percutaneous suprapubic cystotomy has also been suggested for clinical use when the bladder is distorted by a retroperitoneal hematoma or when the bladder has been displaced superiorly.30
