NK-Cell Lymphomas of the Head and Neck Follow-up

Further Outpatient Care
Otolaryngologists should regularly monitor patients because of the high rate of relapse after definitive treatment. The use of flexible nasopharyngoscopy is important because of the high local recurrence rate for head and neck NK-/T-cell lymphomas.
Prognosis
NK-/T-cell lymphoma carries a much higher mortality rate and a lower response rate to traditional chemotherapy and radiation therapy regimens than other subtypes of lymphoma found in the head and neck region. See Mortality/Morbidity for further details.
