Diagnostic Considerations

Other coexistent defects (eg, ventricular septal defect [VSD], coarctation of the aorta, interrupted aortic arch, Shone complex, atrioventricular septal defects) must be considered in patients with subvalvar aortic stenosis.

Symptoms of associated congenital heart defects frequently mask those of SAS.
