Diagnostic Considerations

Psychotic disorder is another diagnosis to consider.

Patients can have more than 1 specific phobia, since clustering often occurs. Animal, natural environment, and situational specific phobias tend to cluster; 70% of persons with blood specific phobia also have injection specific phobia.
