Medication Summary

No medical treatment for progressive partial lipodystrophy has proven effective. However, leptin replacement in lipodystrophy patients may lead to significant and sustained improvements in glycemic control and dyslipidemia and thus be effective in the various forms of lipodystrophy. [30]

Symptomatic therapy may be indicated in progressive lipodystrophy patients with severe nephropathy or associated immune disorders.
