Medical Care

No treatment is effective for Dowling-Degos disease (reticulate pigmented anomaly). [24] Topical retinoic acids, topical steroids, hydroquinone, tretinoin, and systemic retinoids have been used without success. Pruritus may respond well to H1 antihistamines. [46]

Surgical Care

Dowling-Degos disease (reticulate pigmented anomaly) has been successfully treated with the fractional Er:YAG laser [48] and a combination of Q-switched Nd: YAG and fractional carbon dioxide laser. [49] One patient responded favorably to the use of intense pulsed light. [50]
