Diagnostic Considerations

Other considerations include the following:

  • Erosive lichen planus [17, 18]
  • Erosive balanitis
  • Solitary plasmocytoma
  • Malignant plasma cell tumors in HIV-infected patients [19]
  • Syphilis: In 2007, Babu et al noted primary syphilis presenting as balanitis. [20] Others have also noted primary syphilis being on the differential diagnosis of balanitis circumscripta plasmacellularis. [21]
