Diagnostic Considerations

The differential diagnosis for hand eczema can be broad. Consider other causes of dermatitis, papulosquamous disorders such as psoriasis, bullous diseases, drug reactions (eg, bullous and eczematous forms), infestations, and infections (especially with dermatophytes). Less common entities that can mimic hand dermatitis include mycosis fungoides [27, 28, 29] and keratodermas.
