Diagnostic Considerations

Other problems to be considered include the following:

  • Arterial dissection

  • Stroke

  • Atherosclerosis

  • Vasculitis

  • Vasospasm secondary to subarachnoid hemorrhage

  • Vasospasm secondary to angiographic contrast agent and/or catheter

  • Vasospasm secondary to stimulant use

  • Degos disease (malignant atrophic papulosis)

  • Varicella zoster virus (VZV) vasculitis

  • Other infectious vasculitis

Differential Diagnoses
