An estimated 30% of patients with dermoid choristomas have associated systemic abnormalities, including Goldenhar syndrome, [5] nevus flammeus, and neurofibromatosis.

Other systemic disorders reported include cardiovascular abnormalities, vertebral anomalies, and auricular defects.
