Diagnostic Considerations

Problems to be considered in the differential diagnosis of orbital compartment syndrome include the following:

  • Direct optic neuropathy from nerve impingement, crush, or transaction
  • Graves orbitopathy
  • Orbital neoplasm
  • Direct injury from surgical dissection
  • Lens dislocation
