Diagnostic Considerations

Other problems to be considered in the differential diagnosis include the following:

  • Allergic reaction
  • Other disulfiramlike reactions (eg, metronidazole, oral hypoglycemic agents, carbon disulfide, thiram herbicides)
  • Atypical liver alcohol dehydrogenase enzymes (present in 85% of Japanese persons)
