Diagnostic Considerations

In addition to the conditions listed in the differential diagnosis, ingestion of the following mushrooms should be considered:

  • Other Psilocybe spp
  • Amanita cothurnata
  • Amanita smithiana
  • Amanita strobiliformis
  • Amanita gemmata

When other members of the genus Amanita are suspected, the following conditions should be watched for:

  • Ketamine toxicity
  • Meningoencephalitis
  • Dextromethorphan toxicity
  • Gamma-hydroxybutyrate toxicity
