Diagnostic Considerations

In addition to the conditions listed in the differential diagnosis, other problems to be considered include the following:

  • Arboviral infections - Lassa fever, chikungunya, dengue
  • Carbon tetrachloride poisoning
  • Influenza
  • Hepatitis E
  • Sepsis
  • Typhoid fever
  • West Nile virus infection (with hepatitis)
