Diagnostic Considerations

In addition to the conditions in the differential diagnosis, other problems to be considered in the diagnosis of pediatric sepsis include cardiogenic shock, coagulase-negative Staphylococcus, complement deficiency, congenital heart disease, fungal infections, hemophagocytic syndromes, inborn errors of metabolism, infections after solid organ transplantation, macrophage activation syndromes, neoplasms, poisoning, pulmonary embolus, and S agalactiae.

Differential Diagnoses
